Roosters seized from Pochampally’s farmhouse auctioned
The 13th magistrate at the Rajendranagar court put out 84 roosters that were seiuzed during a raid at a farmhouse in Moinabad, for auction at the Rajendranagar court in Upparpally on Monday.

Hyderabad: The 13th magistrate at the Rajendranagar court put out 84 roosters that were seiuzed during a raid at a farmhouse in Moinabad, for auction at the Rajendranagar court in Upparpally on Monday.
All the 84 roosters were sold out to different buyers who had reached the court for the auction.
Meanwhile, BRS MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, the owner of the farmhouse, did not appear before the police and instead sent his advocate who made a statement on his behalf. His advocate had claimed that Pochampally was not involved in the cockfighting, although he claimed full ownership of the farmhouse, located in survey number 165/a.
On February 11, the Cyberabad SOT, along with the Moinabad police, raided a farmhouse in Moinabad and arrested 64 persons for conducting and being a part of cockfighting. Around 84 cocks and Rs 30 lakh were recovered during the raid.
Among those arrested was Bhupathi Raju Shivakumar Varma alias Gabbar, the prime accused. He had taken Srinivas Reddy’s farmhouse on sub-lease to conduct these illegal activities.
