Roads Play Key Role In Development: Minister
Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has agreed to convert the four-lane national highway from Hyderabad to Vijayawada into an access-controlled six-lane highway with service roads: Venkat Reddy

NALGONDA: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday said the state government has accorded priority to the development of roads, which he described as the foundation for the growth of any area.
Hoisting the national flag at the Independence Day celebrations held at the Police Parade Ground in Nalgonda, he said road connectivity plays a crucial role in the development of any region. Hence, the state government has taken up road development in rural areas as well. In addition to laying the Regional Ring Road (RRR), roads from district headquarters to the state capital and from mandal headquarters to district headquarters will be further upgraded. Equal emphasis is also being given to the construction of CC roads and internal roads in both rural and urban areas. The six-lane road works from LB Nagar to Malkapur in Hyderabad, along with its service roads, have reached the final stage.
Venkat Reddy said Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari has agreed to convert the four-lane national highway from Hyderabad to Vijayawada into an access-controlled six-lane highway with service roads. He described this as a milestone in the state’s development. The ₹6,500 crore project is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and will reduce travel time between Hyderabad and Vijayawada from five hours to three.
