Rich Tributes Paid To PV On His 20th Death Anniversary
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid rich tributes to former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao whose 20th death anniversary was observed on Monday.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka paid floral tributes at PV Ghat and said that it was a matter of pride for Telangana that the great man was born here.
Highlighting Narasimha Rao’s contributions, Bhatti said that the land reforms introduced by him as Chief Minister of undivided AP had made for a turning point in India’s history. He also praised Narasimha Rao’s role as Prime Minister for steering India’s diverse economy onto the right path through his liberalisation and globalisation policies which made India a global competitor.
Family members of Narasimha Rao paid tribute at the Samadhi by the Hussainsagar.
Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, state minister Ponnam Prabhakar, government adviser K. Kesava Rao and TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud were among several others to pay tribute at PV Ghat.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao along with Narasimha Rao’s daughter and MLC P. Vani Devi paid floral tributes to the former prime minister’s portrait in the BRS office. Rama Rao recalled Narasimha Rao’s contributions in rescuing India from the economic crisis and paving the way for modern India with his visionary leadership.
Pamulaparti Venkata Narasimha Rao passed away on December23, 2004 at the age of 83.
