RGIA’s Cuddly Crew To Soothe Flyers
The poodles are present at the airport four days a week, usually from Friday to Monday, for 4 – 6 hours per day

Hyderabad, July 28: As part of a new initiative, RGIA has introduced a Therapy Dog Programme for helping travellers to ease travel anxiety, feel more relaxed and emotionally at ease. The program has four well-trained toy poodles, who are brought in to interact with passengers at domestic and international departures, spreading calm and comfort with just their presence.
The poodles are present at the airport four days a week, usually from Friday to Monday, for 4 – 6 hours per day. During this time, they can be found near the boarding gate areas and they visit domestic and international departures where they are available for interaction with willing passengers.
“Whether you are a nervous flyer or simply need a moment of peace, these gentle, trained dogs are here to help you breathe easier. This initiative is part of RGIA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing passenger experience,” said the RGIA officials.
The dogs are always accompanied by professional handlers who ensure that the interactions are safe, stress-free and entirely voluntary. If you’re a nervous flyer, travelling solo or just need a quick mood boost, you can approach these gentle companions for a friendly cuddle or a pat. For those who prefer to admire from a distance, the poodles are trained not to approach unless invited.
Airport authorities said that the initiative is designed to improve the overall travel experience and to comfort travellers and make their journey more relaxing. Their presence is meant to reduce anxiety, improve mood and create a peaceful atmosphere for passengers.
