Hyderabad: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport achieved Net Zero Carbon status for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in 2024, advancing its target by 11 years from the original 2035 deadline.
On World Environment Day, authorities stated, "Charting a Net-Zero Pathway," outlining measures taken to shape a sustainable aviation model.
The airport said it is implementing steps to align operations with emerging sustainability requirements as climate change pressures industries globally. It positioned itself as a future-ready and responsible player within the aviation ecosystem.
The initiative is aligned with the long-term global goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions in aviation by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement.
