Revanth’s Next Target Is Sircilla, Siddipet Assembly Constituencies
Revanth Reddy said he would address meetings to be held in Sircilla by the month end and at Siddipet in October.
Nalgonda: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said his next target would be winning the Sircilla and Siddipet Assembly constituencies, represented by BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao. He also challenged BRS president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to attend Assembly session beginning from September 7 or resign as the Gajwel legislator.
Speaking at a public meeting marking 1,000 days of the Congress government, held at the Rajiv Gandhi outdoor stadium at Nakrekal in Nalgonda district, Revanth Reddy said he would address meetings to be held in Sircilla by the month end and at Siddipet in October. He pointed out Rama Rao and Harish Rao were making irrelevant statements against the Congress government as well as against him.
Reacting to the statement of Rama Rao that he was not well-educated, the Chief Minister said he had character and values. If he didn’t have values, Revanth Reddy said, BRS leaders would not be able to move on the roads. He was ready to discuss his character and values and those of Rama Rao in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy said.
Revanth Reddy noted that a government employee would be removed from service if he was absent for 365 days. Chandrasekhar Rao had received over ₹22 crore of public money as remuneration as well as facilities but had not participated in the Assembly sessions for over 1,000 days. He questioned why Chandrashekar Rao should not be disqualified as MLA.
Revanth Reddy said that the people had voted Chandrashekar Rao to power in 2014 and 2018 on the promised of acting as the ‘watch dog’ of Telangana interests. After coming to power, Chandrashekar Rao only provided opportunities to his family members and relatives.
Strongly criticising the former CM for not providing political opportunities to the family members of Telangana martyrs, whose sacrifice led to formation of the state, he cited the example of Telangana martyr Srikantha Chary’s mother Kasoju Shankaramma not getting any post in earlier BRS government as an example for it.
Referring to the statements of Rama Rao and Harish Rao that Chandrashekar Rao would again become Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy said the Congress would stay in power till the 2034. If delimitation took place, the Congress would win 117 Assembly seats in 2028, or else 90.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 100-bed area hospital and laid the foundation stone for the Telangana Public School building and mandal development iffice at Nakrekal.
Present at the event were ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, MPs Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Government Whip Vemula Veeresham, MLCs and MLAs.

Explaining the welfare schemes and development programmes taken up by the Congress government, Revanth Reddy asked the people to weigh achievements during the 1,000-day rule of the Congress government and 10 years rule of earlier BRS government. He pointed out that the Congress had not dropped any welfare scheme started by the BRS administration.
Revanth Reddy said that the Congress administration had filled 72,000 government jobs in the last three years. BRS leaders not only did not give government jobs but also sold question papers to make money.
