Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy left for New Delhi on Friday evening to take part in the Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog, to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday. This is the first time since 2018 that a Telangana Chief Minister would be attending the Niti Aayog meeting, then-Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao having boycotted the event from 2019 to 2023.
Official sources said Revanth Reddy will present a detailed report titled “Telangana Rising 2047” at the meeting, outlining the state’s goals, long-term developmental roadmap and vision in line with the national theme of “Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat” (Developed states for a developed India) along with policies, best governance practices and the support and cooperation needed from the Centre for the development of states.
The CM will join his counterparts from other states and the Prime Minister for a breakfast meeting and group photograph ahead of the formal deliberations. His presentation will spotlight Telangana’s goals for becoming a $1 trillion economy and the support required from the Centre to achieve the target.
Official sources said the report will highlight investment promotion and infrastructure enhancement as key drivers of economic growth. The CM is expected to discuss strategic initiatives in IT, pharmaceuticals, and urban development, the sectors where Telangana has a strong presence, and plans to strengthen them further.
The vision report will highlight major projects, including the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR), development of radial roads and dry port and establishment of advanced educational institutions such as the Young India Sports University and Skills University. The state plans to upgrade Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Advanced Training and Research (ATR) centres.
Revanth Reddy will detail welfare schemes under his administration, including a crop loan waiver, paddy bonus, distribution of fine quality rice for BPL families, and programmes focused on women’s empowerment. These include a goal to make one crore women millionaires, provide free bus travel for women, 200 units of free electricity, and gas cylinders at a subsidised rate of ₹500.
