HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lead a high-level Telangana delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting at Davos this month, and later tour the US, as part of the government’s continued push to attract global investments and strengthen international partnerships. He will depart on January 18 and participate in the WEF sessions scheduled from January 19 to 23.
Immediately after concluding the Davos visit, Revanth Reddy will embark on a week-long tour of the United States from January 24 to 31, where he is expected to hold a series of meetings with leading industrialists, technology firms and members of the NRI community. The Chief Minister is scheduled to return to Hyderabad on February 1, sources said.
This will be Revanth Reddy’s third consecutive visit to Davos since assuming office in December 2023. He first attended the global summit in January 2024, within a month of taking charge, and returned again in January 2025. Revanth Reddy positioned Telangana as a competitive and credible destination for international investment across sectors such as information technology, manufacturing, clean energy, life sciences and infrastructure.
The WEF summit is widely regarded as one of the most influential global platforms, bringing together heads of state, policymakers, business leaders and financial institutions to deliberate on economic, technological and strategic issues. The state government believes that Telangana’s presence at the forum will help accelerate economic growth by facilitating direct engagement with global industry leaders and decision-makers.
Ahead of the foreign tour, Revanth Reddy has drawn up a packed schedule within the state. On January 18, he will visit Medaram temple in Mulugu district, where he is slated to inaugurate and review several development programmes. On January 19 morning, before leaving for Switzerland, Revanth Reddy will visit the Sammakka-Saralamma shrine in Medaram along with his family to offer prayers.
Official data highlights a sharp contrast in investment outcomes between the previous BRS and present Congress governments at Davos. During the decade-long rule of the BRS government, Telangana attracted investments worth ₹24,528 crore through WEF engagements between 2018 and 2023. In comparison, the Congress government has secured investment commitments exceeding ₹2.19 lakh crore in just two years, during the 2024 and 2025 summits.
In his first Davos appearance in January 2024, Revanth Reddy’s delegation signed MoUs worth ₹40,232 crore. The following year saw a big jump, with investment proposals amounting to ₹1,78,950 crore, which are projected to generate around 49,550 jobs. Officials said the upcoming Davos and US visits are aimed at building on this momentum and further boosting Telangana’s industrial and economic growth.
