Revanth Tapping Our Phones, BRS Leaders Being Shadowed: Harish
Harish Rao on Thursday alleged that the Congress government was tapping the phones of BRS leaders and that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had deployed state intelligence to keep a close watch on party leaders and their activities.

HYDERABAD: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Thursday alleged that the Congress government was tapping the phones of BRS leaders and that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had deployed state intelligence to keep a close watch on party leaders and their activities.
Speaking to reporters, Harish Rao said, “Intelligence operatives keep shadowing us everywhere. Revanth Reddy is tapping our phones. But we have nothing to hide and are not scared of such tactics.”
The BRS leader said Revanth Reddy, in a chat with reporters in Delhi on Thursday, spoke nonsense to cover up his complete failure in preventing Andhra Pradesh from raising the Banakacharla project issue at Wednesday’s meeting with AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union jal shakti minister C.R. Patil.
“Revanth Reddy got caught with his pants down on this issue. AP irrigation minister Nimmala Rammohan Naidu said Banakacharla was on the agenda at the meeting. Revanth Reddy claimed it did not come up for discussion. And to divert the attention of the people from this, he started talking about drugs and ganja cases in Telangana,” Harish Rao said.
Stating that “the Telangana Chief Minister is suffering from a lying syndrome,” Harish Rao said the BRS is not opposed to the two Chief Ministers meeting to discuss inter-state river issues, but it strongly condemns Telangana’s participation in a discussion on Banakacharla. “Irrespective of all protestations by Revanth, the fact is that this project was discussed on Wednesday, and this was widely reported in the media in Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
The BRS, he said, once again demands that the government call for an Assembly session to discuss all river water issues and affirmed that his party is ready for a debate of any length on these issues. “All we are saying is that our party should be allowed to speak without the mike being cut off if the government truly wants a meaningful debate on the issue,” he said.
