Revanth Set to be First CM to Visit OU in 20 Years

The Chief Minister will address professors and students at the Tagore Auditorium on the OU campus on the topic of “the government’s plan for changes in the education sector of Telangana.”

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will be the first Chief Minister to visit the Osmania University campus in the last 20 years.

Osmania University vice-chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram and Arts College principal Prof. C. Kashim met the Chief Minister at his residence on Sunday and invited him as the chief guest to inaugurate the newly constructed hostel buildings on the campus on August 21.

The two new hostels were built at a cost of Rs.80 crore and will accommodate 1,200 students. The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of two more hostels to accommodate another 300 students, with financial assistance from the Tribal Welfare Department.

Speaking to the media, the Vice-Chancellor said that Revanth Reddy will be the first Chief Minister in the last 20 years to visit the OU campus.

The Chief Minister will address professors and students at the Tagore Auditorium on the OU campus on the topic of “the government’s plan for changes in the education sector of Telangana.”

He said that the Chief Minister will also launch a scheme to provide financial assistance to students going on foreign trips, along with the “CM Research Fellowship,” at this programme. Revanth Reddy will also inaugurate the digital library reading room, which was constructed at a cost of Rs.10 crore.

Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar will also participate in the programme.
