Revanth Reddy Targets BRS, Urges Opposition to Let the Government Do Its Job

Revanth Reddy said the state government envisioned making Telangana compete with countries such as South Korea and China and transforming the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy emphasised that the political battles should be reserved for the final months of the government’s term rather than disrupt the daily administration. Taking a swipe at the BRS, he advised the party to let the government function without feeling impatient every day over losing power in Telangana.

"We will do politics ahead of elections. My suggestion to opposition parties, let the government do its work. Your impatience over losing power to people and government every day. People have given their verdict for five years. Whatever politics you want to do, do in the last six months. It is up to the people to decide about your performance and our performance," he said.

He was speaking after inaugurating a solar module manufacturing facility of Premier Energies, with a capacity of 5.6 gigawatts. at Seetharampur at Shabad. Revanth Reddy said the state government envisioned making Telangana compete with countries such as South Korea and China and transforming the state into a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

The comments came against the backdrop of a verbal duel between the Congress and BRS during the last several days, particularly over irregularities in the Kaleshwaram irrigation project and the debt burden imposed by the previous BRS regime. Citing reports of Central agencies, he said Telangana was ranked 36, the last position, in education in 2023, and had rise to 18 now. The aim was to make Telangana achieve the top rank, he said.

Revanth Reddy expressed serious concern over increasing pollution in major cities and said the state government had taken a slew of measures to ensure pollution-free development in Hyderabad. As part of that, a 2,100-sq km area within the Outer Ring Road, the Core Urban Region Economy, was designed exclusively for the service sector. The state has been divided into CURE, PURE, and RARE zones for sustainable development.
