Revanth Reddy Lists Welfare Achievements at Gudur Public Meeting

CM highlights welfare measures, targets BRS at public meeting in Gudur

Nalgonda: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday urged people to assess the development carried out in Telangana and deliver their verdict in the forthcoming municipal elections. He was addressing the Praja Palana–Praja Vijayotsava Sabha after laying the foundation stone for a Young India Residential School at Gudur in Miryalaguda mandal.

The Chief Minister said that earlier people had to wait for nearly a decade to obtain ration cards, while the present government is supplying fine rice at six kilograms per person to 3.17 crore beneficiaries. He appealed to beneficiaries of the fine rice scheme to support the Congress party in the municipal elections. Claiming that Miryalaguda was among the leading regions in paddy production in Asia, he asserted that the Congress had no real competition in the local body polls.
Revanth Reddy said free RTC bus travel was being provided to women, including those contesting elections on BRS tickets, and maintained that the government had shown no discrimination in implementing welfare schemes. He said ₹21,000 crore had been spent on farm loan waiver benefiting 25.35 lakh farmers, while farmers were also being provided a minimum support price along with a ₹500 bonus. Under Rythu Bharosa, ₹9,000 crore had been distributed at ₹6,000 per farmer, and the remaining funds would be released after the municipal elections.
Stating that the State had spent ₹1.10 lakh crore for the welfare of farmers—the highest in the country—the Chief Minister said the government would provide houses to lakhs of poor families in the new budget to be presented in April, taking responsibility for enhancing the self-respect of the poor.
Targeting the BRS, Revanth Reddy alleged that the SLBC project was sidelined due to hostility towards Nalgonda district, forcing people to consume fluoride-contaminated water. He said SLBC works had been revived with a target to complete them within two years. The Chief Minister also criticised former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, remarking that police notices were being portrayed as an insult to the Telangana community.
