Revanth Reddy Lambasts BRS Regime For Neglecting Weaker Sections

“We conducted Group-I exams and released the results,” Revanth said, criticising the opposition BRS for hatching a political conspiracy to create hurdles in issuing appointment orders.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday lambasted the previous BRS government for neglecting the education of children belonging to weaker sections.

“Why did the BRS fail to take any steps to provide education to children from weaker sections and make them stakeholders in the government? Isn’t it true that they played with the lives of the unemployed for 10 years without issuing job notifications?” Revanth Reddy asked.

Speaking at the Gurukula Awards function at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy said that the people’s government had already filled 59,000 government jobs in just one year. He added that the Congress government holds the distinction of recruiting a large number of candidates in its first year.

“We conducted Group-I exams and released the results,” he said, criticising the opposition BRS for hatching a political conspiracy to create hurdles in issuing appointment orders.

He stated that the previous government had not conducted Group-I exams in 10 years and was now obstructing the Congress government from issuing appointment letters by filing cases in the courts. Today, the issue has become a social problem, he added.

The Chief Minister lashed out at BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao for appointing family members to posts within just six months of the poll debacle, while preventing the state’s youth from securing jobs. He urged the youth to question BRS leaders when they come to meet them and expose their political conspiracy.

Stating that the Congress is continuing the legacy of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the architect of the Constitution, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said that people become popular and recognised in society only through good education, not by their caste affiliation.

Revanth Reddy explained that the government had appointed the first Dalit Vice-Chancellor in Osmania University's 100-year history. The government had also appointed Aakunuri Murali as the chairman of the Education Commission and Gaddam Prasad Kumar as the Assembly Speaker.

“All of them have been recognised because of their educational background, not their caste. The future of the country lies in the classrooms, and I sincerely wish everyone to excel in all fields,” the Chief Minister said.

Revanth Reddy said students should work hard until the age of 25 to lead a happy life by securing good jobs. He also warned the youth against diverting their attention, as it could cause significant distress to their parents.

“Never let such situations arise. Youth should excel with self-confidence. Not only your parents, but the state should also be proud of you,” he said.
