Revanth Reddy aimed to strengthen Telangana’s economic ties with Japan and attract investment into the state’s growth sectors

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy concluded his week-long official tour of Japan on Tuesday, returning with investment commitments worth over ₹12,062 crore that are expected to generate more than 30,500 jobs in Telangana. The CM is scheduled to return to Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Leading a high-level delegation on April 16, Revanth Reddy aimed to strengthen Telangana’s economic ties with Japan and attract investment into the state’s growth sectors. The tour yielded significant results, with major Japanese firms signing investment agreements across infrastructure, technology and manufacturing sectors.

Among the key investment announcements were Marubeni Corporation’s next-generation industrial park in Future City. The project, with an initial investment of ₹1,000 crore and estimated total outlay of ₹5,000 crore, is expected to create around 30,000 jobs.

NTT Data and NEC Corporation have committed ₹10,500 crore to set up an artificial intelligence data centre cluster. Toshiba Transmission and Distribution Systems India (TTDI) will set up a manufacturing facility for electrical equipment and components in Rudraram, investing ₹562 crore.

Tomcom, in collaboration with TERN and Raj Group in Japan, signed an agreement to facilitate the recruitment of 500 employees from Telangana for jobs in Japan.

On Tuesday, the delegation, which included minister D. Sridhar Babu, met senior officials in Japan, including the Vice Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture.

During talks with the Hiroshima Prefectural Assembly Speaker Takashi Nakamoto and other legislators, wide-ranging discussions were held on potential collaborations in clean technology, urban innovation, infrastructure development, industrial partnerships, and cultural exchange.

Sridhar Babu proposed the creation of a Hiroshima-Telangana Automotive & Mobility Corridor.

In a symbolic gesture of friendship, Speaker Takashi Nakamoto invited Revanth Reddy and Sridhar Babu to occupy his chair in the Assembly Hall. The delegation was later taken on a ceremonial tour of the Assembly and Hiroshima’s iconic sites including the Gandhi Memorial, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and the Atomic Bomb Dome.

Addressing the assembly, Revanth Reddy said, “Hiroshima is a symbol of hope and resilience. Like your city, Telangana too represents struggle, hope, and achievement. We are here not just to seek investment, but to build a long-term partnership for a greener, inclusive, and sustainable future.”
