Revanth Reddy: Govt Ready to Collaborate with Army on Recruitment
The Chief Minister appealed to the army authorities to organise training programmes in some identified district headquarters to create awareness among local youth in army recruitment
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday said that the state government is ready to collaborate with the Indian Army to encourage the state's youth to participate in various Indian Army recruitment drives. He appealed to the Indian Army authorities to organise training programmes in some identified district headquarters to create awareness among local youth about army recruitment.
Responding positively to the Chief Minister’s plea, Lieutenant General C. Rajesh Pushkar announced his readiness to set up training centres for youth in various Telangana district headquarters ahead of nationwide army recruitment drives.
Lt. Gen. Rajesh Pushkar is the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command of the Indian Army.
Revanth Reddy also discussed the Army's role in disaster management and emphasised that the Army should play a proactive role in rescue operations, evacuating people to safety, and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas. Lt. Gen. Rajesh Pushkar assured that he would instruct local Army officials to take special initiative during disaster situations in Telangana.
On this occasion, Lt. Gen. Rajesh Pushkar commended the state government's prestigious Musi River rejuvenation project. The rejuvenation of the Musi River is the need of the hour to protect Hyderabad by reducing pollution, and restoring the city's historical glory. Irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Major General Srinivas Rao and other senior Army officials were also present.
