Revanth raises doubts over 'mysterious deaths' of persons connected with BRS scams

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has raised serious doubts over a series of mysterious deaths allegedly linked to irregularities involving BRS leaders in the Kaleshwaram project and drug-related cases.

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has raised serious doubts over a series of mysterious deaths allegedly linked to irregularities involving BRS leaders in the Kaleshwaram project and drug-related cases.

In an informal chat with media persons in Delhi on Wednesday after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Revanth Reddy pointed fingers at former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, former ministers K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao for their alleged involvement in these incidents.

He highlighted the death of Telugu film producer Kedar Selagamsetty on Tuesday, stating that he was a close associate of Rama Rao and former BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy.

"Kedar was an accused in a drugs case busted at the Radisson Hotel in Hyderabad last year. He mysteriously died in Dubai. KTR demands inquiries into every minor issue, but why is he not seeking a probe into his friend's and business partner’s mysterious death?" questioned Revanth Reddy.

The Chief Minister alleged that individuals connected to Chandrashekhar Rao, Rama Rao, and Harish Rao, as well as those opposing them, have been dying under suspicious circumstances.

He cited the cases of Rajalingamurthy, who had filed a case against Chandrashekhar Rao and Harish over Kaleshwaram project irregularities before being brutally murdered, and advocate Ganta Sanjiv Reddy, who argued the case against BRS leaders and passed away mysteriously. "Now, Kedar, who was involved in the drugs case, has died," he added.

Revanth Reddy also launched a scathing attack on Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, dubbing him a “partner of KCR.”

He accused Kishan Reddy of deliberately obstructing the Centre’s approval and funding for major projects in Telangana, including the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2, the Musi rejuvenation project, and the Regional Ring Road.

“During KCR’s regime, Hyderabad Metro Rail was not expanded. Now, Kishan Reddy wants no expansion under the Congress government either. That’s why he is blocking the Centre’s approval," he alleged.

He challenged Kishan Reddy and Sanjay Kumar to secure Central funds and projects for Telangana’s development. "If they succeed, I will organise a grand felicitation programme for them in Hyderabad in the presence of lakhs of people," he said.

The Chief Minister claimed that Kishan Reddy and Sanjay Kumar were interfering in state government investigations into various cases, such as the Formula E car race, phone tapping, and the sheep distribution scheme.

Revanth Reddy alleged that Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams were being used to shield Chandrashekar Rao, Rama Rao, and Harish Rao from arrests. He also accused the BRS of not fielding candidates in the Graduate and Teacher MLC elections as part of a deal with the BJP to protect its top leaders from legal action.

He said the BJP was pressuring the state government to transfer key cases like the Formula E car race and phone tapping to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of a conspiracy. He claimed this was an attempt to use CBI investigations to intimidate BRS leaders and force the BRS into merging with the BJP.

Speaking on the recent SLBC tunnel mishap, the Chief Minister blamed the negligence of the previous BRS government. He stated that while the previous Congress government had completed 30 km of the tunnel by 2014, the BRS government halted work for a decade later, leading to the current crisis.

Revanth Reddy assured that the Congress government would overcome these challenges and complete the SLBC tunnel project, which is expected to irrigate 3.5 lakh acres.
