Rama Rao, addressing a meeting of BRS’ student wing leaders and cadre, claimed that there may be more to what happened at Medigadda, where loud noise was heard when two of its piers partially sank, Rama Rao said he would not be surprised if the Congress was behind the problems to bring disrepute to the Kaleshwaram project.

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday reiterated his claim that he would not put it past the Congress as being responsible for the sinking if the Medigadda barrage to defame the BRS government in the run-up to the last Assembly elections.
He accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of “acting as a proxy for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu,” and surrendering to Naidu Telangana’s rights over Godavari river waters.
The BRS leader demanded that the Centre clarify Telangana’s rightful share in the surplus and dependable waters of the Godavari river. He also alleged that the Congress, and the BJP, “have joined hands to dismantle the BRS, a flagbearer of Telangana’s self-respect.”
He urged the BRS student wing leaders and cadre to take to social media to highlight Congress government’s failures, and expose the injustice from Banakacharla project. “Take this fight to every college and university through awareness campaigns,” he said.
