Revanth Leaves for Delhi To Push for Metro, RRR and Airport Funds
CM to meet Union ministers seeking approvals for airports, Metro, RRR and irrigation works.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy left for Delhi on Monday night. He is expected to meet Union ministers to pursue pending issues concerning Telangana, particularly major infrastructure and irrigation projects. CM Revanth will meet ministers K, Ram Mohan Naidu (civil aviation), Manohar Lal Khattar (urban affairs) and Nitin Gadkari (road transport and highways) on Tuesday.
Revanth will take up the issue of expediting work on the airports in Warangal, Adilabad and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts with Naidu, faster approvals for Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) phase-1 funding to complete takeover from L&T and Phase-3 expansion with Khattar, faster approvals for Regional Ring Road and key road infrastructure projects with Gadkari.
The Chief Minister is also expected seek early approval of the Centre's financial share and statutory clearances for the HMR Phase-II. Particular emphasis is expected to be placed on the proposed connectivity to the Shamshabad airport and the planned corridors linking the upcoming Future City.
Revanth Reddy has also sought appointment with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. Sources said irrigation is expected to be one of the key focus areas of the meetings, with Revanth Reddy likely to press for early clearances for pending projects in the Godavari and Krishna river basins, release of Central funds and discussions on inter-state river water disputes.
Separately, Revanth Reddy is likely to meet senior Congress leaders to discuss organisational matters and the filling of long-pending nominated posts in state-run corporations. The two-year tenure of 37 chairpersons ended last week. Discussions are likely to focus on which incumbents should be given another term, who should be replaced, and which senior leaders and party functionaries who have worked for the Congress should be accommodated in the fresh round of appointments.
Sources said Revanth Reddy was also expected to submit the final list of recommended names to the party leadership for approval, paving the way for the long-awaited filling of vacancies in state corporations and other nominated posts.
