Revanth Had No Answers to KCR's Questions, So He Lied: Harish

On Revanth Reddy saying that Chandrashekar Rao faced trouble from within the BRS, Harish Rao said “no one will ever betray him, he is our father figure.”

Hyderabad:Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Monday charged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy with lying on the issue of Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS) and other issues raised by former chief minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao, who on Sunday, charged the state government with failures on various fronts, including protecting the state’s water rights.

Addressing a press meet, Harish Rao said the questions that Chandrashekar Rao raised – on why the government did not respond to the Centre sending the PRLIS detailed project report (DPR) to the state in 2024, and why irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy wrote a letter to the Centre saying 45 tmc ft of water was enough for the project – were legitimate.

“While KCR talked about the DPR being returned in 2024 and silence of the Congress government, Revanth says it was returned in 2023. If this was so, then how did the BRS government get seven vital clearances for the project and persuaded the Centre to tell the CWC to take up the project’s appraisal,” he asked.

“While KCR spoke like a statesman, Revanth Reddy continued to stoop low to launch personal attacks on KCR, relied on rhetoric as he had no answers to the questions,” Harish Rao said.

He also demanded that Uttam Kumar Reddy withdraw his letter on 45 tmc ft for PRLIS as the state had a legitimate and rightful demand for 90 tmc for of water for the project.

On Uttam Kumar Reddy saying Chandrashekar Rao’s claims of 90 per cent of PRLIS project completion are wrong, Harish Rao said he offered to take the minister to the project to show the completed work. He said the minister made false claims that no new ayacut was created by the BRS government, adding that around 49 lakh acres of ayacut was created and stabilized when BRS was in power.
