Revanth Briefs SC Panel Chief on Sub-Categorisation, Touts Integrated Schools

CM briefs NCSC chief on SC categorisation, Young India schools and Telangana Public Schools.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday said the Telangana government was implementing a series of initiatives aimed at the socio-economic, educational and political empowerment of the Scheduled Castes communities, while urging the Centre to extend the necessary support for the development of SC communities.

The Chief Minister made these remarks during a meeting with National Commission for Scheduled Castes chairperson Kishore Makwana here. He also briefed Makwana on the implementation of SC community categorisation.

The Chief Minister highlighted the Young India Integrated Residential Schools in every Assembly constituency to provide quality residential education to students belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, minorities and other castes and communities under one roof. Unlike the existing system of separate residential institutions for different social groups, the integrated schools would bring together students from all communities, thereby eliminating caste-based discrimination among children, he said.

The Chief Minister also outlined the state government's plans to strengthen the overall education system through the establishment of Telangana Public Schools, which will provide education from Nursery to Class 12. He said the schools would provide students breakfast, lunch and transportation. The government planned to expand the number of Telangana Public Schools in the Core Urban Region (CURE) as part of its efforts to improve access to quality education.
