Residential Schools Fare Best in SSC Exams

Girls outperform boys, Mahabubabad tops, Vikarabad at bottom

Hyderabad: Nearly 93 per cent of students have cleared SSC Public Examinations, which were conducted in March 2025, results were declared by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Girls outperformed boys once again, scoring 94.26 pass percentage compared to the boys' 91.32 per cent. A total of 5,07,107 students wrote the exams, and 4,60,519 passed.

Mahbubabad district registered the highest pass percentage of 99.29, followed by Sangareddy and Jangaon. Vikarabad stood at bottom with 73.97 per cent.

Telangana State Residential Schools showed the best performance, with a pass percentage of 98.79. A total of 4,629 schools achieved 100 percent pass results, most of them from private and residential institutions. Only two private schools recorded zero results.

Announcing the results during Basavanna Jayanti celebrations at Ravindra Bharathi, Revanth Reddy said the strong performance of students in residential schools proved the direction of the government's education policy. "Our government believes the future of this country sits inside classrooms. If we want real change, we must offer quality education to every child," he said.

He pointed out that students in government residential schools performed better than those in private schools and called it a matter of pride. “This is a result of our collective effort,” he said as he appreciated both students and staff.

Private candidates registered a 57.22 per cent pass rate, with girls scoring 61.70 per cent compared to 55.14 among boys. Children with special needs recorded a pass percentage of 93.57.

The supplementary examinations will be held from June 3 to June 13. Candidates who could not clear any subjects may pay their examination fee for supplementary exam by May 16 through their schools. Those seeking recounting or re-verification have until May 15 to apply.
