Report Land Encroachments to Govt: Minister Ponnam

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy would take a final call on how to develop the prime land: Ponnam

Hyderabad: Backward Classes Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar here on Saturday asked the people to alert the State government on encroachments in government lands to take necessary action.

He said this after inspecting the 12-acre government land worth Rs.1200 crore protected from land grabbers by Hyderabad Collector Anudeep Durishetty in coordination with revenue department officials. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi was also present.

Prabhakar, who is also incharge Minister for Hyderabad, said the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy would take a final call on how to develop the prime land keeping in view the interests of people.

The State government launched Bhu Bharathi portal replacing Dharani portal, which was earlier a one stop destination for agricultural land transactions. As the new portal became operational, the people can brought to the notice of officials about the encroachment of government lands across the State.

A few days ago, Anudeep Durishetty inspected the site and reviewed the progress of fencing works. He also inspected the work done by Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) to determine the boundaries of the government land and to prevent any encroachment on the vacant government land in front of the office of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Survey No. 102/1 on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills. Galvanized sheets and poles were used to protect the land, at a cost of Rs 35 lakh.
