Rent Dispute Suspected Behind Kedari Couple's Deaths
Rent dispute and financial difficulties are among the angles being investigated into the couple’s deaths.

Hanamkonda: Subedari police are investigating the deaths of Lingala Kedari, owner of Lingala Kedari Hotel at Adalat Junction in Hanamkonda, and his wife Pushpalatha.
Kedari died in an incident at the hotel on Wednesday night, while his wife, who sustained severe injuries, died while undergoing treatment on Thursday morning.
The case took a new turn after their son Prudhvi lodged a complaint alleging that a dispute over pending rent dues led to the incident.
Initial reports suggested that a fire broke out at the hotel on Wednesday night due to a short circuit. Kedari died in the incident, while his wife was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
In his complaint, Prudhvi alleged that his parents had been under severe stress due to financial difficulties related to running the hotel and pending rent dues.
He claimed that the hotel owner, Ramu, had locked the premises over non-payment of rent, causing the couple severe distress. He further alleged that they subsequently released gas inside the hotel and died by suicide.
Police are therefore investigating all possible angles and collecting evidence to determine the actual cause of the couple’s deaths and the extent to which the rent dispute may have contributed to the incident.
Based on Prudhvi’s complaint, Subedari inspector Ranjith Kumar registered a case and launched an investigation. Police said the postmortem report, forensic evidence and other details are being examined, following which greater clarity is expected regarding the incident.
