Release Complete Health Card Guidelines, Extend Deadline to June 30: TUTF to Telangana Government

The union also sought a district-wise list of empanelled government, private and corporate hospitals and said quality medical facilities should be available at least at the constituency level.

Hyderabad: The Telangana United Teachers Federation (TUTF) has asked the state government to release complete guidelines for the proposed health cards scheme before rolling it out for government employees, teachers and pensioners, and sought an extension of the data-entry deadline till June 30.

In a joint statement, TUTF state president Ramineni Venkateshwarlu and general secretary Lachimalla Venkanna said employees and pensioners still have several unanswered questions about the scheme. They said the government should clarify disease coverage, inclusion of out-patient services, emergency treatment procedures and whether full cashless treatment would be available for ailments such as cancer, heart disease, kidney disorders and neurological conditions.

The union also sought a district-wise list of empanelled government, private and corporate hospitals and said quality medical facilities should be available at least at the constituency level.

TUTF objected to the proposed 1.5 per cent salary deduction before the release of detailed guidelines. The union said premiums should be linked to the number of dependents rather than salary and suggested a single family premium where both spouses are government employees. It also sought annual updating of dependent details, special provisions for pensioners, safeguards against additional hospital billing and a 24-hour toll-free grievance helpline.
