Regularise Contract Faculty Across 12 Telangana Universities Before Direct Hiring: UTAC-TS Urges Government

Hyderabad:Representatives of the University Teachers Association Contract (UTAC-TS) urged the state government to regularise the services of contract faculty working in 12 state universities and implement UGC pay scales with job security for them.
At a press conference on Friday, the association sought the implementation of the assurance made to the effect in April.
The association said around 1,200 contract faculty members were working without job security. They urged the government to complete the absorption process for contract staff before commencing direct recruitment for vacant posts.
The association demanded that the government convert all self-finance courses that have completed five years into regular university courses in compliance with UGC regulations.
