Hyderabad: Actor Akhil Raj, known for his role in the award-winning film Raju Weds Rambai, has issued a clarification after a video of his altercation with a delivery boy went viral on social media on Monday. The video has sparked widespread discussion, and several people are trolling the upcoming actor for his aggressive behaviour.
Addressing the incident on Tuesday, the actor, in a video shared on social media, alleged that the delivery boy failed to verify the address properly and handed the parcel to his family members. When the delivery boy returned to collect it, an argument broke out between the two over the parcel being opened. Akhil reportedly told him to verify the address properly before delivering, which apparently led to a heated argument.
Akhil Raj claimed the delivery boy was drunk, made false accusations, spoke derogatorily about his mother, and threatened to post the video on social media. He stated that without knowing the facts, people were making harsh allegations on social media, and stated that he had also once worked as a delivery boy and had come the hard way.
“I reacted only in defense, out of fear for my mother and family members,” the actor said. He added that he filed a police complaint against the delivery boy over the incident.
