Rajahmundry: Woman Dies, Lover Critical in Suicide Attempt
The woman’s body was shifted to the Government General Hospital (GGH) mortuary.

Rajahmahendravaram: A woman died, and her lover was critically injured after they allegedly attempted suicide near Gammon Bridge at Kateru in Rajahmahendravaram on Monday night.
According to reports, Abhilash, a native of Kotilingalapeta, and the woman, a resident of Shantinagar, had known each other for some time and later fell in love. Both of them reportedly approached their parents seeking permission to marry, but their families did not agree to the relationship.
The woman’s parents had reportedly arranged her marriage with another person. Following this, they allegedly decided to end their lives.
They reached Gaman Bridge on Monday night. Police said Abhilash allegedly attacked the woman with a sharp object before injuring himself and consuming pesticide. The woman died on the spot, while Abhilash was found in a critical condition and shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
