AICC leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy are set to participate in the plenary session of the Bharat Summit at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on Saturday.

Hyderabad:AICC leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy are set to participate in the plenary session of the Bharat Summit at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on Saturday. TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Friday said that Rahul Gandhi had confirmed his participation in the event.

Originally scheduled for Friday, the plenary was deferred to Saturday following Rahul Gandhi’s sudden visit to Kashmir to meet with survivors of the Pahalgam terror attack. His absence also led to Revanth Reddy skipping the summit’s opening day.

Rahul Gandhi and Kharge are slated to deliver keynote addresses during the session.

The summit will conclude on Saturday evening with a valedictory function featuring Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal, MPs Supriya Sule (NCP), Manoj Kumar Jha (RJD) and Kanimozhi (DMK).

The Bharat Summit commenced on Friday with a thought-provoking session titled ‘Gender Justice and a Feminist Future’, aligning with the summit’s overarching theme, “Delivering Global Justice.” The session featured a dynamic exchange among global leaders, policy experts and advocates working toward gender equity and inclusive governance.

Another highlight was the discussion, ‘Facts vs Fiction: Countering Disinformation’, which addressed the escalating challenge of digital misinformation. The session brought together digital experts, policymakers, and political leaders to deliberate on strategies to combat the spread of false information.

Telangana’s representation came through IT minister D. Sridhar Babu, who took part in a panel on ‘Shaping New Multilateralism’. The session also featured prominent international figures, including former Member of European Parliament Maria Joao Rodrigues and Sayo Saruta, Director of the Tokyo-based New Diplomacy Initiative.
