Rachakonda Police Hands over Swati’s Leftover Body Parts to Family

After the local court in LB Nagar remanded Reddy to judicial custody, the police sent him to Cherlapally central prison.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Monday handed over the leftover body parts of 21-year-old Swati, who was brutally killed by her husband Mahender Reddy at their house at New Balaji Hills in Boduppal, to her family members.

Reddy killed his five-month pregnant wife, Swati and dismembered her body using a hacksaw blade and threw parts of it in Musi River. As they could not find the other body parts of Swati in spite of searching in the river with the help of personnel of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the police collected the DNA samples from her family members and sent them to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

After the local court in LB Nagar remanded Reddy to judicial custody, the police sent him to Cherlapally central prison. Reddy and Swati belonging to different castes had married against the wishes of their parents in January 2024. They belong to Vikarabad and after their marriage they came to the city in search of a job and were residing at New Balaji Hills.
