“As part of the investigation, our teams recorded the victim’s statements, which provided detailed information that led to a change in the nature of the charges,” a senior police official told Deccan Chronicle.
On the other hand, the Telangana High Court gave partial relief to Mohan Babu by staying the notices issued by the Rachakonda police summoning him and his actor-son Vishnu to appear before them. The court directed police not to interfere too much in the family feud and observed that an opportunity should first be given to the family members to resolve the matter by themselves before proceeding legally. It also wondered why the media should overreact to internal matters of a family and suggested that they should not scandalise the family dispute.

Vishnu, speaking to the media, said, "What my father did was wrong, but not intentional—just a heat of the moment reaction. It’s unfortunate, and we're in touch with the victim’s family. Everyone knows how much my father respects the media."
Vishnu acknowledged that family disputes are common. "We thought the joint family setup would work, but it didn’t. I got a call in Los Angeles and rushed back on Tuesday after hearing about the issues at home, which are painful to talk about. My father's only mistake is that he loves us a lot. I request that this should not be sensationalised."
Vishnu, who is also served notices to appear before the court marked his attendance in the evening. Agreeing to the directions issued by the Additional District Magistrate, he signed the bond for Rs 1 lakh and stated that he will in future comply with the orders and prevent any disturbances.
Vishnu also mentioned that his mother was hospitalised due to the situation, though Manoj later contradicted this. Manoj added, "I’m being portrayed as the villain when I tried to expose irregularities in our schools at Tirupati. Victims were prevented from reaching my father. We know who is behind this."
