Push for Clearances to Expedite Metro Phase-II

Hyderabad:Special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan urged all stakeholder departments to issue no‑objection certificates (NOCs) without delay to expedite the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase‑II project. At a coordination meeting on Tuesday, Ranjan highlighted the importance of timely clearances, emphasising that approvals are critical to securing permissions from the Centre and ensuring the project advances without delay. The meeting was part of the process to obtain clearance for the project from the Network Planning Group of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director Sarfaraz Ahmad stressed the urgent need for metro expansion and requested all departments concerned to issue NOCs for the proposed Phase‑II corridors at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by HMRL joint managing director Shivendra Pratap, commissioners of GHMC and CMC, and senior officials from South Central Railway, Defence, MoRTH, NHAI, Civil Aviation, GHAIL, DoT, TGSPDCL, TGIIC, HMDA, HUMTA, Irrigation, R&B, GAIL, IOCL, HPCL and Reliance.
