Public Participation Vital for Success of Welfare Schemes: Gutha Sukhender Reddy

Nalgonda: Telangana Legislative Council chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Friday said active public participation was crucial for the effective implementation and success of government welfare programmes.
Addressing the district-level “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” programme held at MNR Gardens in Nalgonda, he said the state government had launched several welfare initiatives benefiting all sections of society. He said schemes such as Rythu Bhima, Rythu Bharosa, crop loan waiver and the Rs 500 bonus per quintal for fine varieties of paddy had brought visible improvement in the financial condition of farmers.

Sukhender Reddy also underlined the need for sincere efforts to resolve issues in the education, irrigation and healthcare sectors. He expressed confidence that the Young India Integrated Residential Schools and Model Schools being established by the state government would emerge as game changers in Telangana’s education sector.
He said welfare measures such as free uniforms, mid-day meals and breakfast schemes would benefit poor students. Expressing concern over declining enrolment in government schools, he stressed the need to strengthen public education institutions to improve admissions.
Nalgonda Municipal Corporation mayor Burri Chaitanya said the Congress government would soon launch a ‘Family Life Insurance Scheme’ in the state.
Various government departments set up stalls at the venue showcasing welfare schemes and development programmes being implemented for the public.
MLC Nellikanti Satyam, district collector B. Chandrasekhar, superintendent of police Sharath Chandra, additional collector (revenue) J. Srinivas and additional collector (local bodies in-charge) Y. Ashok Reddy also attended the programme.
