Public Land Grabs Top HYDRAA Plaint List
One major complaint involved alleged encroachment of government land in survey number 136 of Gundlapochampally municipality, where walls and pillars were reportedly constructed

Hyderabad: A total of 54 complaints were received during the HYDRAA Prajavani programme held on Monday, with many citizens raising concerns over encroachments on public lands, parks, roads and drains across Medchal–Malkajgiri and Ranga Reddy districts. Several complainants, though not personally affected, came forward in the public interest.
One major complaint involved alleged encroachment of government land in survey number 136 of Gundlapochampally municipality, where walls and pillars were reportedly constructed. Locals also highlighted illegal occupation of parks located in survey numbers 692, 693, 701 and 717 in an HMDA layout, along with blockage of a 20-foot road between survey numbers 713 and 727.
In Kothapet village under Uppal mandal, residents from six colonies alleged that 3.12 acres of land earmarked for public use had been encroached on. Another complaint from Fathullaguda stated that private survey numbers were being misused to encroach upon adjacent government land.
Encroachment of a 7-acre parcel at Jalubai Kunta under Nagaram municipality was also flagged. In a key complaint from Puppalaguda, residents raised alarm over the 55-km-long Bulkapur drain, meant to channel floodwater to Hussainsagar, being slowly lost to illegal constructions, heightening flood risks in nearby colonies.
HYDRAA's fire department additional director Varla Papayya reviewed the complaints, examined satellite imagery and maps and recommended follow-up action based on preliminary findings.
