Private Auto LPG Firms Stepped Up Supplies

The first meeting was held after autorickshaw drivers faced LPG shortages as several private outlets had shut operations, leading to long queues for fuel.

Hyderabad:Civil supplies commission M. Stephen Raveendra on Tuesday appreciated auto LPG companies — Super Gas, Go Gas, TotalEnergies and Prime Fuel — for augmenting supplies and reviving operations at multiple outlets.

During a follow-up review meeting by the state civil supplies department on Tuesday after the first meeting held on April 1, officials noted that the companies sourced and supplied 363 metric tonnes of Auto LPG during the week, and 17 previously non-operational outlets were restored.

The first meeting was held after autorickshaw drivers faced LPG shortages as several private outlets had shut operations, leading to long queues for fuel. It was observed that a large number of private auto LPG outlets had ceased operations. The companies were instructed to take immediate measures to source Auto LPG from all possible avenues and ensure uninterrupted supply at retail outlets.

Raveendra expressed concern over limited progress by some companies. As uninterrupted auto LPG supply was critical to safeguarding the livelihoods of auto drivers, he instructed to intensify sourcing efforts and ensure consistent supply across all outlets.

He said the department said it would maintain strict vigilance and continue daily monitoring of outlets and product receipts in coordination with oil marketing companies to mitigate the impact of international supply constraints. It will continue its daily monitoring of running outlets in close coordination with oil marketing companies.
