Prisoner Flees From Court In Jagtial

The police who suspected the role of Prasad’s family members when he escaped in front of them, took them into custody and started an investigation. They also started a manhunt to nab Prasad.

KARIMNAGAR: A remand prisoner who was jailed for allegedly cheating people promising jobs in the Gulf countries escaped from the court here in Jagtial district.

According to the police, the prisoner identified as Jannu Prasad, a resident of Lingapur village in Pegadaplli mandal was sent Jagtial sub-jail on charges of collecting money from people promising them jobs in the Gulf and then cheating them.

Recently, another case was also filed against Prasad at Kodimyal police station. When the police took Prasad to be presented before the court as part of the investigation, the judge remanded him to custody.

Meanwhile, Prasad requested the police to speak with his family members in the court compound. While court constable Sagar went inside the court to get papers of remand warrant, Prasad took the opportunity to escape from court.
