Prime accused arrested in kidnap, murder of pan masala delear

Hyderabad: Karkhana police arrested one Syed Sajjad Ahmed Khan for the murder of Bollu Ramesh, 51, a pan masala trader. Ramesh’s wife Janani had lodged a missing complaint on on January 18, after Ramesh did not return home.

The next day, the police questioned Khan, a resident of Keys Avenue Colony, Bundlaguda, Chandrayangutta, on suspicion, and detained him. He reportedly confessed to murdering Ramesh with the help of three others. He then led the police to Ramesh’s body at Kingaru thanda, Kusumanchi mandal of Kahammam district. Because it was decomposed, local government doctors conducted a postmortem at the scene.

Police said Khan had purchased pan masala from Ramesh and asked him to collect the payment at Kacheguda. He noticed that Ramesh had a large amount of money with him, kidnapped the trader with the help of his associates and murdered him.


Man kills wife, adds pottasium sulphate to speed up process

Hyderabad: Murder suspect Putta Gurumurthy, who had murdered his wife Madhavi and destroyed her body, had added potassium sulphate to speed up the process, police said.

Investigation agencies were coordinating with the police from four states where similar crimes were detected. Two police teams from northeastern states were assisting the city police, sources said.

It was reported that experts from private teams had been retained to aid the investigation.

Sources said Gurumurthy was questioning the police for the basis of his arrest as they had not found any evidence of murder.

Sources said following the murder, some families in the vicinity of the murder scene in Meerpet had moved away.
