Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu Lights Up Tank Bund with Festivities

Hyderabad: The Praja Palana Vijayotsavalu at Tank Bund on Sunday transformed the area into a vibrant hub of cultural and musical festivities. The event drew thousands of people, eager to immerse themselves in the celebratory spirit, which extended from the Necklace Road to the HMDA Grounds, where an eclectic mix of activities kept the energy alive throughout the evening.
The grounds were bustling with visitors exploring an array of stalls, offering many things from the much-loved Niloufer tea to the iconic Paradise biryani, and Gokul Chaat to Masqati ice-cream.
Handicraft lovers were drawn to the Kondapalli dolls and Ikat weaves, while others browsed through teakwood furniture displays and participated in free medical camps. The old gold exchange counters added a unique touch to the lively marketplace, ensuring there was something for everyone.
“I brought my children here to experience the festivities, and they absolutely loved the drone display, and we’re now trying different items here for dinner,” said Priya Sharma, a homemaker from Begumpet. “But it’s not just entertainment — it’s a way to connect with our state’s culture and traditions.”
As the evening progressed, the festivities reached their peak with a spectacular air show and an eye-catching drone display. Aerial manoeuvres and vibrant light formations filled the skies, leaving onlookers in awe.
“The air show and drones were mesmerising. My husband and I were thrilled to see our children so excited,” said Kiranmayee Kumar, a software engineer who attended with her family. “It’s not every day you get such a lively event in the city.”
The night belonged to renowned singer and composer Rahul Sipligunj, whose concert at the HMDA Imax Ground was the highlight of the celebrations. Fans gathered in thousands to witness the show, which featured a blend of Telangana’s cultural hits and his own chart-topping numbers.
“It was amazing to hear ‘Naatu Naatu’ live. Rahul Sipligunj’s energy was infectious, and everyone in the audience couldn’t stop cheering,” said Ravi Teja, a college student who travelled from Uppal to attend the concert.
The celebrations were attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who joined the audience in enjoying the musical extravaganza, while Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka arrived later in the night.
