Poonam Denies Arrests From His Peshi
Transport and BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday denied that two persons, who were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for demanding and accepting a bribe from a beneficiary of the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, were part of his Peshi.

Reacting to a news report, "2 Ponnam's peshi staffers held for Rs 1L CMRF bribe", which appeared in these columns on Friday, the Officer on Special Duty to the minister Puli Saidulu issued a rejoinder stating that the arrested persons had "no connection whatsoever with minister Ponnam Prabhakar's peshi."

The news item clearly stated that one of the arrested persons was an outsourcing employee and another was working in industrial development corporation. We regret the error in the headline but we stand by our report.
