Hanamkonda: Transport and BC Welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday participated in a “Palle Palleku Ponnam Anna – Palle Palleno Praja Palana” programme at Bavupet village in Elkathurthy mandal of Hanamkonda district and reviewed implementation of government welfare schemes with officials.
The minister interacted with residents to understand their problems and directed officials to take immediate steps to address their grievances.
Prabhakar said ever since the Praja Palana government assumed office, 331 pensions have been sanctioned in Bavupet, with around Rs 90 lakh being disbursed every month. He said 17 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned, while 316 families are receiving up to 200 units of free electricity, and 326 families are benefiting from the gas subsidy scheme.
The minister said women’s self-help groups have been provided with interest-free loans under bank linkage programmes. Under Rythu Bharosa, 4,660 farmers have received Rs 4.17 crore, while eight families have been provided Rs 40 lakh under Rythu Bima. He assured residents that steps would be taken to ensure that every eligible family benefited from government welfare schemes.
In view of the low rainfall, Prabhakar advised farmers to conserve rainwater, adopt modern agricultural practices, and diversify crop cultivation. He underlined that the objective of Praja Palana is to resolve people’s problems at the grassroots level, rather than making them visit government offices repeatedly.
Those who participated in the programme included sarpanch Bathula Ravinder Goud, officials and villagers.
