Ponguleti Warns Officials Over Delay in Disposing of Pending Land Applications

The minister directed officials to expedite the ongoing land resurvey aimed at providing a permanent solution to land-related issues.

Nizamabad: Revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday warned officials against delays in disposal of applications received during Bhu Bharati meetings as well as Sada Bainama petitions. He underlined that people should not be made to repeatedly visit government offices to resolve their grievances. Addressing a review meeting at the Nizamabad collectorate, he warned that strict action would be taken against officials whose performance has not improved despite repeated reminders. The minister directed officials to expedite the ongoing land resurvey aimed at providing a permanent solution to land-related issues.

He said the government has set a target of completing the resurvey of agricultural lands and Abadi properties within one and a half years. In the first phase, resurvey work is being taken up in 70 villages of every district. Ponguleti, who toured the erstwhile Nizamabad district and laid foundation stones for several development works, inspected a site at Nirmithi Kendra in Nagaram for Indiramma Housing Towers. He interacted with beneficiaries of Indiramma houses at Pamula Basti. At the Rajiv Gandhi Auditorium, he distributed documents for double-bedroom houses to 400 beneficiaries from the Nizamabad Urban Assembly constituency. He said another 300 beneficiaries would be provided houses within a week to 10 days. He maintained that all allotments are fully transparent. The minister said Indiramma Towers are being constructed in major towns on the lines of Hyderabad for the poor who do not have house plots in towns and cities.

Among those present at the meeting included government adviser P. Sudarshan Reddy, MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, MLAs Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta and Dr Bhupati Reddy, Nizamabad mayor K. Uma Rani, Housing managing director Gautham, in-charge collector Bhavesh Mishra, Telangana Urdu Academy chairman Taher Bin Hamdan and Nuda chairman Kesha Venu.

On the occasion, BJP leaders staged a protest at the collectorate demanding the resignation of Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy over the 22A land issue. Police took the protesters into custody to bring the situation under control.
