Ponguleti: TG to Issue Land Pattas to Poor on Assigned Lands
Revenue Minister announces measures for land rights, free sand, and a crackdown on fake seeds.

Nalgonda: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the state government is planning to issue land pattas to eligible poor families currently occupying assigned lands. He instructed officials to submit detailed proposals to the government for consideration. The minister also directed officials to process applications related to sada binamas (unregistered land transactions) concerning government lands, which have been submitted by the public. He assured that once the court stay is lifted, all genuine sada binama applications will be cleared.
The revenue minister, along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, and roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, on Thursday, held a review meeting at the Integrated District Offices Complex in Khammam. Officials from Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts, who attended the meeting, focused on key initiatives including the Indiramma housing scheme, Bhu Bharathi land survey project, paddy procurement, and the monsoon health action plan.
Bhatti warned that spurious seeds could wipe out a farmer’s investment and push them into debt. He urged the police to take action against the sale and distribution of counterfeit seeds. He also directed officials to coordinate with their counterparts in neighbouring states to curb the menace.
Additionally, Srinivas Reddy announced that Revenue Sadasulu (revenue grievance redressal meetings) will be conducted in all revenue villages under the supervision of Tahsildars from June 3 to 20.
He said that sand for Indiramma house beneficiaries will be provided free of cost through a token system. At the same time, he made it clear that illegal sand transportation must not be allowed under the pretext of supplying materials for the Indiramma housing scheme.
Highlighting the Congress’ commitment to housing for the poor, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Indiramma Housing Scheme was launched to provide concrete houses to all eligible beneficiaries in a phased manner. He noted that 4.5 lakh houses have already been sanctioned under the scheme with an allocation of ₹22,500 crore. He further assured that the selection of beneficiaries was carried out in a transparent manner, leaving no room for irregularities.
Emphasising the deep connection between people and their land, the Deputy Chief Minister alleged that the previous BRS government caused immense hardship to farmers through the implementation of the Dharani portal. He expressed confidence that the new Bhu Bharathi Act-2025 will resolve land-related issues across the state.
Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao emphasised that there should be no room for shortages of seeds and fertilisers during the upcoming monsoon cropping season. He directed agriculture department officials to ensure adequate stocks are maintained at all mandal-level stock points to meet farmers' needs in a timely manner.
Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stressed the need for the agriculture department to raise awareness among farmers on how to identify spurious seeds. He also directed officials to closely monitor the construction of Indiramma houses to ensure quality and timely execution of the project.
