Ponguleti Raps Officials over Delay in School Works

The minister sought an explanation from officials regarding the decline in student strength at the school.

Nalgonda: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday expressed displeasure over delays in the execution of development works at the Zilla Praja Parishad High School in Peruvancha village of Kallur mandal, Khammam district.

Accompanied by Sathupalli MLA Dr Matta Ragamayee and district collector Anudeep Durishetti, the minister paid a surprise visit to the school and reviewed the progress of ongoing works. He found fault with officials for the delay in constructing additional classrooms and the compound wall, and directed them to expedite the works and complete them before his next visit in two months. He also pulled up officials for lapses in monitoring the project.

The minister sought an explanation from officials regarding the decline in student strength at the school. Earlier in the day, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy laid the foundation stone for a BT road from Narayanapuram to Peruvancha, being taken up at a cost of ₹2 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the State government was implementing a focused plan for comprehensive village development and assured that road connectivity and infrastructure would be strengthened in all villages in the coming days.
