Ponguleti: Indiramma Housing Festival from Telangana Formation Day in Asifabad
Ponguleti said the government was prioritising women in welfare schemes such as Mahalaxmi, Gruhajyoti, ration cards, Indira Mahila Shakti and Rajiv Aarogyasri.
Adilabad: Revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said the Indiramma Housing festival will commence on Telangana Formation Day, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy scheduled to participate in the programme in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. The Chief Minister will launch the second phase of the Indiramma Housing scheme at Kolam-Kotari village and inaugurate completed houses in the village.
The minister, along with tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao, MLAs Gaddam Vinod and Kokkirala Premsagar Rao, and MLC Dande Vittal, inspected locations to finalise the venue for a public meeting. The team visited sites at Kagaznagar X Road in Rebbena mandal, Dadanagar in Kagaznagar mandal and the SPM factory grounds in Kagaznagar.
Addressing the media, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government had taken up construction of four lakh Indiramma houses at a cost of Rs 22,700 crore within a year of coming to power. He said 1.20 lakh houses were completed by April and 2.35 lakh houses by June. Financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh is being released in phases to beneficiaries.
He said the government was prioritising women in welfare schemes such as Mahalaxmi, Gruhajyoti, ration cards, Indira Mahila Shakti and Rajiv Aarogyasri.
The minister said houses constructed in Kolam-Kotari village fulfilled the housing needs of Adivasi families and interacted with women beneficiaries. He also issued accreditation cards to journalists for 2026-28.
District collector K. Haritha, superintendent of police Nitika Pant, additional collectors Yuvaraj Marmat and M. David, DRO Dasari Venu and tahsildar Lokeshwar were present.
Officials have been directed to expedite arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit.
