Govt To Fast-Track Settlement Of Sada Bainama Cases: Ponguleti
Thirteen officers who were promoted from deputy collectors to special grade deputy collectors called on the minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday and expressed their gratitude: Reports

HYDERABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the state government has introduced revolutionary reforms in the revenue system to resolve long-pending land issues across Telangana.
Thirteen officers who were promoted from deputy collectors to special grade deputy collectors called on the minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday and expressed their gratitude. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the government’s reforms were designed in line with the aspirations of the people of Telangana and must be implemented effectively at the grassroots level to achieve the desired results.
He said the government had framed clear guidelines under the Bhu Bharati Act to resolve applications related to sada bainamas (unregistered land transactions) and directed officials to expedite their settlement. Ponguleti criticised the previous BRS government for accepting sada bainama applications but failing to resolve them under the 2020 RoR Act, leaving around 9.26 lakh applications pending.
He noted that while some applicants had approached the High Court, which issued a stay order, the court has now lifted the stay, allowing the government to resume processing the pending applications.
Highlighting the government’s employee friendly policies, the minister said promotions had been given across various cadres in the revenue department. He urged the newly promoted officers to work with renewed enthusiasm and engage closely with the public to strengthen trust in governance.
Ponguleti reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and efficiency in land administration, saying the reforms aim to ensure that every rightful landholder receives justice without delay.
