Ponguleti Assures Government Schools Will Rise to Corporate Standards
Government educational institutions are being transformed into destinations for quality education
Nalgonda: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said that the state government is aiming to develop academic excellence in government schools that will enable students to compete with their counterparts from corporate schools.
Laying the foundation stone for ₹4.85 crore infrastructure development works at the Gollagudem Ashram Girls' High School at Edulapuram in Khammam district, Ponguleti pointed out that Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy has accorded top priority to the education sector. Government educational institutions are being transformed into destinations for quality education.
“Our budgetary allocation to the education sector clearly reflects this aspect. All necessary facilities are being provided in schools to ensure that students focus entirely on their studies without facing any hardships,” the minister underlined.
Stating that education should not get interrupted due to poverty, he asked parents to join their children in residential schools of the government, where quality education, nutritious food, and various facilities would be available to them.
Ponguleti pointed out that the Gollagudem Ashram School will have an additional hostel, dining hall, kitchen, extra classrooms, toilet blocks, cooking sheds, an overhead tank, and solar fencing. The minister had his lunch with the students on the occasion.
He commended the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) officials for their dedicated efforts toward developing the ashram schools.
Bhadrachalam ITDA project officer B. Rahul emphasised that “Uddeepakam,” a specially designed programme, is being implemented in ashram schools to improve learning skills among tribal students. He announced the “Varadhi” programme, which is designed to provide guidance on employment opportunities once students complete their education.
