Ponguleti: 27,000 Additional Indiramma Houses for Chenchu Families
He also alleged that the BRS government had borrowed Rs 8 lakh crore from various banks and agencies over the last decade, placing a severe financial burden on the current administration.

Adilabad: Revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Monday announced that an additional 27,000 Indiramma houses will be sanctioned to Chenchu families across the state. He said the long-cherished dream of homeownership for the Chenchus is becoming a reality under the Indiramma Housing Scheme.
Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao were speaking at a public meeting after distributing housing sanction proceedings to beneficiaries at Mannanur village in Amrabad mandal, part of Achampet Assembly Constituency in Nagarkurnool district.
Srinivas Reddy said that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is committed to fulfilling the housing aspirations of Chenchu families, many of whom have lived without permanent shelters for generations. So far, 13,266 Chenchu families in 21 Assembly constituencies falling under the jurisdiction of Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) have received house sanctions in a phased manner.
He added that each Assembly constituency in the state will receive 3,500 Indiramma houses and the scheme is designed to provide social security and dignity to poor families. “I am extremely happy to be distributing these sanction letters to our tribal brothers and sisters,” he said.
The minister further explained that Rs 5 lakh is being directly credited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries in phases to support the construction of the houses.
Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted various welfare schemes being implemented by the current Congress government. He criticised the previous BRS government for failing to fulfill its promises, such as Dalita Bandhu, double-bedroom houses, and stipends for unemployed youth, during its 10-year tenure.
He also alleged that the BRS government had borrowed Rs 8 lakh crore from various banks and agencies over the last decade, placing a severe financial burden on the current administration.
Achampet MLA Dr Vamsi Krishna, Nagarkurnool MLA Rajesh Reddy, and Nagarkurnool district collector Badavath Santhosh also addressed the gathering.
