Hyderabad: From semiconductor fabrication to electric vehicles and artificial intelligence, Telangana’s diploma admissions this year are increasingly mirroring industries expanding around Hyderabad’s technology corridor, officials said while releasing the counselling calendar.
The first phase of TGPOLYCET 2026 counselling begins May 27, with certificate verification from May 29 to June 1. Web options close June 3, and seat allotments will be announced on or before June 6.
A total of 33,140 diploma seats are available across 111 polytechnic colleges, including 18,788 in government institutions and 14,352 in private unaided colleges. Another 2,930 seats fall under the Economically Weaker Section category.
Emerging technology programmes show marked expansion. Semiconductor Technology has 720 seats, while Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning offers 990. Automation and Robotics, Electric Vehicle Technology, Cyber Physical Systems and Security, and Cloud Computing and Big Data have also been introduced or expanded.
