Poll Cases were Politically Motivated, Says Revanth
Revanth Reddy appeared in person before the court for the second time since assuming office as the Chief Minister

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy appeared before the Special Court for MPs and MLAs in Nampally on Thursday in connection with multiple cases filed against him for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct during the last Assembly elections. The cases were registered at Begum Bazar, Nalgonda Two Town, and Kowdipally police stations in Medak district.
Two of the cases, filed in Begum Bazar and Nalgonda, were taken up for examination on Thursday. These cases were based on his remarks made during the election campaign, which were considered provocative and targeted at police officials, whom he criticised for working in alignment with the then BRS government. He was also accused of violating the election code during the Assembly elections.
During the examination, Revanth Reddy told the court that the cases were politically motivated and that he had done nothing wrong. He claimed the cases were based on false allegations and said he was being targeted for political reasons. The court recorded his statement and adjourned the verdict to June 12.
Revanth Reddy appeared in person before the court for the second time since assuming office as the Chief Minister. He had earlier appeared in connection with these cases on February 19. The cases were filed under various IPC sections, including promoting enmity between groups, intentional insult to provoke breach of peace, criminal intimidation, obscene acts, assault or criminal force to deter a public servant, wrongful restraint, and disobedience to an order promulgated by a public servant. Tight security was in place at the Nampally court premises during his visit.
