V. C. Sajjanar urges students to verify affiliations as Osmania University reports misuse of its name; Hyderabad City Police initiates action against unrecognized institutions.

Hyderabad: Students and parents have been cautioned against falling prey to misleading advertisements by colleges falsely claiming affiliation with Osmania University. According to senior police officials, several institutions within the city are promoting unauthorized degree admissions using fake claims of recognition.
Following complaints from Osmania university authorities, the Hyderabad City Police conducted inquiries and found that these colleges lack official approval or affiliation. Legal action has been initiated against such institutions for violating norms and misleading students.
Authorities have advised students to secure admissions only through the government’s official Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) platform, which lists recognized colleges. Citizens are also urged to report suspicious institutions to the police to prevent academic and financial loss.
