Hyderabad: The Chatrinaka police on Tuesday said they would further investigate a case registered by the endowments department against unidentified persons for encroaching the Panchalinga temple land at Sultanbagh in Bandlaguda mandal. In November 2024, a group of people complained to the endowments department about the construction of a building by unidentified persons at the temple land, which is spread 3 acres and 14 guntas.
Following the complaint, assistant commissioner of endowment department T. Shekar had filed a complaint with the Chatrinaka police in February, requesting them to stop the illegal construction and take necessary action against the encroachers.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mohd. Kaleem, a resident, said, “The encroachers slowly occupied the land and began raising a house. We tried stopping them, but they did not listen. After the police case, they stopped the construction.”
Chatrinaka SHO K Nagendra Prasad Verma said that they are investigating the case, and will take necessary action after investigations. Authorities also said that they will take legal opinion before taking any actions.
